Average of $20 AUD per hour (typically $15 - $25 AUD per hour, equivalent of $16 - $27 US Dollars – based on current currency value). Plus tips, overtime and holiday pay. An example of a typical placement is a qualified chef earning $20 hourly weekdays, $24 hourly weekends, $35 hourly public holidays. Australia has about twenty public holidays a year!

Can I afford a WEA Package?
All WEA Package fees may be fully recovered (plus MORE) upon completion of your employment term in the form of a tax refund! As a non-resident of Australia, you are eligible for a refund for a portion of income tax paid during your employment term. The average refund for a year is $2,560! That is nearly NINE TIMES the cost of the WEA DIY package and nearly DOUBLE the cost of the WEA Premium Package that you may get returned to you! WEA provides the necessary information on resources to obtain this refund, making this a profitable endeavour! Why is there a registration fee?WEA receives thousands of enquiries monthly and must personally review each one to determine eligibility, as well as personally interview and answer the numerous questions of potential applicants. What are some of the eligibility requirements to apply for a Work Enjoy Australia Job Package?
WEA Job Packages are only available to qualified hospitality workers (minimum of 6 months professional experience) that are also eligible for the Working Holiday visa. Your visa application must be received by immigration before you turn 31. To apply for a WEA Job Package, do so at least 1 month prior to turning 31. What are some of the eligibility requirements for the Australian Working Holiday visa?
Due to Australian immigration regulations, applicants must be ages 18 through 30. You must apply before turning 31. Applicants must have a high school diploma (or equivalent certificate), cannot travel with dependent children, and be a citizen of one of the following countries: USA, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey

You may opt for a shorter stay in Australia (3-month minimum). You may enter and exit the country as many times as you want during the 12-month period that the visa is active. You may only obtain the Australian Working Holiday visa one time in your life and U.S. citizens may not renew the visa – this is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity! You can also apply for a NZ visa while in Australia or in the US.
Will I be able to cover my cost of living in Australia on what I’ll be making?
The cost of living in Australia is reasonable! If you manage your money well, you can end your working holiday with money in savings! Keep in mind that Australia is a large country and, just like the U.S., the cost of living varies between locations. If you buy “Australian made” products you will tend to save money as opposed to buying imported goods. Additionally, you can request to have some of your tax withholdings refunded when you leave the country (6 month minimum stay to request refund).
What costs should I take into consideration?
The cost of the Job Package of your choice (either the D.I.Y, Basic Job Package or Premium Job Package: call for prices), airfare, and the Working Holiday visa fee (paid directly to Australian Immigration). Does Australia & NZ have good public transportation?
Major cities in Australia have excellent public transportation including trains, buses, trams etc. Each applicant receives information on living in Australia, including information on how to obtain a driver’s license in Australia, should you choose to drive.
How are job interviews with employers conducted?
After your Job Package application is received, your recruiter will review your resume and provide interview tips. Your skills will then be assessed & matched with an employer. Each placement is individual & unique. Interviews are scheduled on the phone and via Skype.
What time of year do people go to Australia & NZ for jobs?
WEA arranges jobs throughout the year. Peak seasons are the beginning of Australian summer (Nov-Dec) and beginning of Australian winter (May-June).
How far in advance do I need to apply? I’m not planning on going to Australia or NZ for several months to a year, should I inquire now?
You’ll need to find out if you are eligible before making any plans and, if eligible, a recruiter will provide further information that is crucial to your planning process. You will need to apply at least 3 months before you wish to depart (to allow time for visa application, the job placement process, and for you to book your flight). You can apply up to 1 year before the date you wish to depart. Advanced application is recommended, as positions are limited and WEA will only accept 250 Job Package applications in 2013.
Can Work Enjoy Australia help me get my passport?
We do not assist in obtaining passports.
Can I go with a friend or partner?
Absolutely! If your friend or partner qualifies and is accepted by Work Enjoy Australia, we can arrange jobs for both of you in the same area.
Can I bring my pet?
You could, but it’s expensive and pets must be quarantined for a minimum of 30 days. With the cost of transportation, vaccinations, chipping and boarding during quarantine, bringing a pet into Australia costs approximately $3,000 - $5,000.
How do I find accommodation?
Work Enjoy Australia will provide guidance on finding accommodations, specific to the area of your employment, if you’ve chosen the Premium Job Package. Some roles include live-in accommodation, in this case the wages are lower accordingly.
What about health & travel insurance in Australia & NZ?
You will need travel insurance when living and working in Australia & NZ, as you are required by law to carry your own health insurance.
